All licenses that you install are stored on the license database. We recommend that you set a password on the database to protect it from misuse.
You install and administer licenses, using the License Administration utility, AppTrack.
To ensure that license details are displayed correctly, use the version of AppTrack supplied with your latest version of Enterprise Server or Application Server.

We recommend that you use a password for AppTrack, as this protects your ES or AS licenses from being copied by someone else, and prevents any unauthorized person from tampering with your license system.
All licenses that you install are stored on a license database that is created the first time you, or any user, installs a license. Since the password you select is also installed on the license database, there is nowhere to save the password until the database is created. Once you have installed a license, and the database is created, then the password is saved. This is so, even if you delete all licenses from the license database. Note that there is only one password for the license database.

You can install licenses manually by using AppTrack, or you can install them silently during the installation of your application.
You must not install the same ES or AS license on more than one machine at a time; to do so would break the terms of the license agreement. If you want to move an ES or AS license from one system to another, you must uninstall it from the current system first. If you require additional ES or AS licenses, contact your Micro Focus account representative or your Micro Focus licensed supplier for details on purchasing them.
For further information, see the following topic(s) in your online documentation:
